On February 1, 2023, the new duty system was first launched in the county of Hajdú-Bihar, which will be gradually introduced throughout the country. The aim of the transformation is to ensure that the system providing better care than before and connected to the elements of the emergency care system operates.

Out-of-hours GP services for adults living in Debrecen are still provided in the building of the Department of Emergency Medicine of the Clinical Centre, the room of out-of-hours GP services can be accessed directly from the main entrance.

The calls are received by an ambulance specialist who provides a high-quality and safe solution for sudden or serious health problems during dutyl hours. Patients recieve professional advice, and if necessary, an emergency car or an ambulance will be sent to his place of residence in case of a life-threatening situation.

Effective and professional telephone counseling is also available in the care of children and adults within the framework of on-call management integrated with the rescue management system of the National Ambulance Service.

Dental Emergency Services

The Institute for Primary Care and Health Promotion of the University of Debrecen Clinical Centre provides on-call dental emergency services related to primary health care. Dental duty is free on weekends and holidays at the centre at 1 Pósa Street, so you can use NEAK-subsidized care.

Acute care is provided at the emergency room, care is provided in the order of arrival.
