Emergency Clinic

1. History

Emergency patient care started on September 1, 2007 with two outpatient examination rooms and a 10-bed monitoring unit on the ground floor of the Western wing of the Internal Medicine Clinic I., then a separate Emergency Department was created on November 1, 2011.

2. Types of medical care and services

The clinic offers bedside lab services to check blood sugar, blood oxygen, Na+-, K+-, lactate levels, as well as provide urgent urine tests. Samples are sent to the Central Lab for analysis and the results typically come back within an hour. X-ray and ultrasound labs are right next door, and a CT can be reached within 3-4 minutes in the basement of Building “B” at the Institute of Internal Medicine.

3. Data related to patient care

The first Emergency Clinic in Hungary was established on November 1, 2017, where, due to significant improvements in human resources, 71 specialists and clinical workers take care of 35,000 patients every year.

4. Technology and development projects

The Emergency Clinic is still located in Building “A” within the Internal Medicine Clinic, but long-term plans will allow it to move into a separate building. In addition to the new waiting room, there are 3 examination rooms, and spaces for decontamination and resuscitation; we also have a room to quarantine patients with contractable illnesses and a monitoring room for those awaiting transfer, along with another 10-bed monitoring room.
