Introduction - Rheumatology Division

The Rheumatology Division receives patients from Hajdú-Bihar county suffering from musculoskeletal disorders both on an outpatient and inpatient basis. Our division considers it an essential duty to improve the quality of life of those suffering from chronic illnesses and inform them about ways to prevent the worsening of their condition (therapeutic exercises, lifestyle changes). We consider it a key responsibility to participate in the education and training of future physicians, nurses, physiotherapists and therapeutic masseurs.

At our division, there are no on-call and on-duty services.

Our inpatient section has 40 beds. We see patients requiring hospital treatment by appointment and with a referral from the rheumatology specialist clinics within Hajdú-Bihar County (Debrecen, Berettyóújfalu, Balmazújváros, Hajdúböszörmény, Hajdúnánás, Hajdúszoboszló, Létavértes, Püspökladány, Polgár). Of course, patients requiring urgent care are treated without an appointment, as a matter of urgency. Our patients are placed in hospital rooms with 2-5 beds.

Outpatient care is performed at the polyclinic within the framework of general rheumatology specialist consultations and the care of patients with inflammatory diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthropathy, arthritis, etc) takes place at the Arthritis clinic. The monitoring of patients receiving biological therapy is also provided here. Our Infusion room enables our patients to receive high-quality care in a nice environment: they can get intravenous biological therapy, receive education, lifestyle advice, and learn how to administer injections for themselves. Massage chairs make our patients’ stay even more comfortable. The polyclinic also has an infusion room, where medicine against osteoporosis, muscle relaxants, vasodilators, and medicine to improve blood circulation can be administered intravenously.

In addition to the polyclinic and the arthritis clinic, we also have a specialist consultation in Józsa.

Physiotherapy has a key role in treating musculoskeletal conditions. Treatments are provided to our inpatients in the therapeutic rooms of our division (electrotherapy rooms, gym, massage room).
