The laboratory working in the basement of the Pulmonology Clinic sees patients with appointments every day 8-14; emergency cases are taken care of by a bronchologist. If the patient cannot be transported, examination on the spot is also an option. In general we see about 1700 patients per year. In addition to routine diagnostic examinations several other procedures are carried out: treatment of the narrowing of the main bronchi, electrocauterization and laser therapy, rigid bronchoscopy, foreign body removal, X-ray guided transthoracic needle biopsy. Patients are partly inpatients of the hospital, partly outpatients from specialist outpatient clinics. It is also possible to examine patients from outside the catchment area if they book an appointment.
