Description

He graduated summa cum laude in 1997 with a degree in General Medicine from the University of Debrecen. He is a board-certified specialist in internal medicine (2002), cardiology (2005), oxyology and emergency medicine (2012), clinical pharmacology (2013), and pediatric emergency medicine (2024). He also holds specialist qualifications in hypertension and echocardiography. In 2021, he obtained a certified degree in healthcare management. He earned his PhD in 2005, completed his habilitation in 2014, and has been a Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences since 2021. He was appointed as a university professor in 2020.

He is the founding director of Hungary’s first Department of Emergency Medicine. Since 2015, he has served as the regional president of the national emergency medicine professional board. Since 2017, he has been Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine and the Department of Emergency and Oxyology at the Faculty of Health Sciences, both at the University of Debrecen. Since 2019, he has been a member of the Executive Board of the Hungarian Association for Emergency Medicine and Chair of its Education Committee.

Since 2021, he has been the President of the Clinical Centre of the University of Debrecen, and since 2023, as deputy rector of the University. He is a member of numerous scientific societies and holds leading editorial roles in several international medical journals.

Description

He graduated summa cum laude in 1991 with a degree in General Medicine from the University of Debrecen. Since graduation, he has continuously worked at the University of Debrecen, initially at the 1st Department of Internal Medicine and later at the Institute of Internal Medicine. He is a board-certified specialist in internal medicine (1996), cardiology (1998), and clinical pharmacology (2013). He also holds specialist qualifications in hypertension and diabetology. In 2001, he obtained a qualification as a healthcare economist-manager. He earned his PhD in 2002, completed his habilitation in 2008, and has been a Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences since 2014. He was appointed as a university professor in 2014.

Since 2013, he has been the Director of the Coordination Centre for Drug and Food Development at the University of Debrecen. He has been a member of the leadership of the University’s Clinical Centre since 2014—serving as cabinet member, Vice President from 2017 to 2022, Acting President from August 26 to December 31, 2020, and Deputy President since January 1, 2021. Since 2019, he has been the head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Debrecen. From 2025, he has been the President of the Federation of the Hungarian Medical Societies (MOTESZ) and the elected President of the Hungarian Society of Hypertension.

Description

She obtained her general medical degree in 1995 from the Semmelweis University of Medical Sciences. She is a certified medical doctor in law, a specialist in surgery, and a plastic (burn) surgery specialist. She also holds qualifications as a controller, quality management system developer, quality management lead auditor, healthcare management specialist, and space health professional. She was the founder and first director of the Interactive Medical Training Centre at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Debrecen, responsible for simulation-based education. Her teaching activities are related to quality assurance and management, healthcare knowledge, simulation training, and sport physiology. Since 2018, she has been a regular member of the accreditation visitation committees of the Hungarian Accreditation Committee for Higher Education (MAB). She earned her academic degree in the field of social sciences in 2011 and received her habilitation in 2020. She is a member of several scientific societies. Since 2021, she has served as Vice President of the Clinical Centre of the University of Debrecen.

Professional Introduction: Dr. Bernadett Ujhelyi graduated with honours ("summa cum laude") in 2005 with a degree in general medicine from the University of Debrecen. She became a specialist in ophthalmology in 2010 and earned her PhD in 2012. She habilitated in 2024. She is the head of the outpatient clinics at the Ophthalmology Department of the Clinical Centre and, as of September 1, 2025, she serves as medical vice-president at the Clinical Centre. As an ophthalmologist, she also leads the specialised outpatient clinics of the Ophthalmology Department at the Clinical Centre and specialises in glaucoma. In addition, she is the founding ophthalmologist of the interdisciplinary clinical team focused on endocrine orbitopathy. Dr. Ujhelyi is a member of the Hungarian Society for Endocrinology and Metabolism, the Glaucoma Group of the Hungarian Society of Ophthalmology, and the European Glaucoma Society. She participates in the work of the Executive Board of the Hungarian Ophthalmological Society and the public body of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Her achievements have been recognised with numerous awards, including the "Outstanding Physician Award" from the Clinical Centre of the University of Debrecen in 2025.

Description

Professional Introduction: Dr. Zsuzsa Bagoly earned her medical degree with "summa cum laude" honours from the University of Debrecen in 2004. She obtained her PhD in 2008 and completed her specialisation in laboratory diagnostics in 2011. She habilitated in 2020. As a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow, she conducted research for one year at the Mario Negri Sud Institute in Italy. Since 2025, she has been a Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Currently, she serves as an Associate Professor at the Institute of Laboratory Medicine at the University of Debrecen. Her scientific interests focus on the theoretical and clinical aspects of thrombosis and blood coagulation, and she conducts clinical research in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases (stroke). In 2024, she won the MTA Lendület (“Momentum”) grant. Among her professional recognitions, the L’Oréal–UNESCO For Women in Science International Award (2020), the Pándy Kálmán Memorial Medal of the Hungarian Society of Laboratory Medicine (2021), and the University of Debrecen’s Female Researcher of the Year Award (2021) stand out. She holds leadership positions in various national and international professional organisations, including as President of the Hungarian Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (2024–), Board Member of the European Congress on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (2022–), and Chair of the Fibrinogen and Factor XIII Scientific and Standardization Committee of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (2024–). Since 2018, she has been a board member of the Hungarian Society of Laboratory Medicine, serving as Secretary from 2018 to 2021. She has organised, chaired sessions at, and served as an invited speaker at numerous national and international conferences. From June 1, 2025, she will serve as the Vice President for Diagnostics at the Clinical Centre of the University of Debrecen.

Description

She graduated as a registered nurse from the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Debrecen Medical School and later earned a university-level nursing degree in 2008. She began her career as a nurse in the intensive care unit of the Department of Cardiology, later becoming head nurse of the department. In 2014, she was appointed head of the Vocational Adult Training Centre of the Directorate of Nursing and Professional Workers. In 2018, she obtained a certified degree in healthcare education.

Since 2023, she has served as deputy director of professional nursing, overseeing nursing operations on the Nagyerdei Campus. From the end of 2024, she has taken on leadership of the entire professional field as director of professional nursing.
