Introduction to Core Functions at the Nagyerdei Campus

At the Nagyerdei Campus’ outpatient specialist care, we treat inflammatory and autoimmune rheumatological diseases of level III progression (rheumatoid arthritis, early polyarthritis, spondyloarthritis (ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, arthritis associated with inflammatory bowel disease, retive arthritis), undifferentiated arthritis, autoinflammatory syndromes, gout, systemic autoimmune diseases - systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis, mixed connective tissue disease, antiphospholipid syndrome, Sjogren's syndrome, inflammatory myopathies, vasculitis – ANCA-associated vasculitis, giant cell arteritis, Takayasu arteritis, Henoch-Schönlein purpura, other accompanying vasculits, undifferentiated autoimmune diseases, autoimmune syndromes associated with immunodeficiencies, arthritis, granulomatous diseases). Outpatient care is aimed at providing the patient with appropriate care in an ambulatory form based on the severity and complications of their disease to prevent the development of serious conditions requiring hospital admission. Outpatient care also involves assessing the need for performing differential diagnostics, making appointments and scheduling such tests, as well as choosing the best (even if sometimes very high cost) therapy, and doing follow-up on the efficacy of the treatment. Outpatients are attended to in a separate building at the Auguszta premises, within the framework of 2x30 hours per week of rheumatology and 1x30 hours of clinical immunology, in parallel with 2 hours per week of hereditary storage diseases. In addition to our territorial area, our activities include receiving, caring for and caring for patients from the region, other counties and even the whole country with these priority diagnoses. In addition to the specialist orders, we have an outpatient biological therapy infusion unit, where patients can receive targeted intravenous biological therapy treatments.
