The division is located in a separate 4-storey building. The outpatient specialist consultations (specialist consultations for pregnant women, gynecology, ultrasound and endocrinology) are located on the elevated ground floor; the postnatal and neonatal sections are on the first floor, while on the second floor care is provided for pregnant women and patients with gynecological conditions and there is a postoperative supervision room as well. The delivery room unit and the surgery block are on the top floor. There have been multiple internal renovations which meant partly refurbishment and partly rationalization and the increase of comfort. As a result of this, state-of-the-art, well-equipped and air-conditioned operating rooms (with separate operating room for the performance of caesarean sections) and single delivery rooms have been established where delivery with the presence of the father is possible. Mothers after birth are placed in silent and comfortable “baby rooms” with 1-2 beds and separate sanitary facilities where they can choose between daytime (6 AM - 10 PM) and 24-hour “rooming in” options depending on the condition of the newborn baby. If required, breastfeeding is facilitated by lactation consultants having international IBCLC qualification. Since April 2017, gynecology and surgery patients are placed in a postoperative supervision room of a European standard and in single or double rooms with separate sanitary facilities. At our division thousands of surgeries are performed every year, which are facilitated by well-trained anesthesiologists with extensive experience.
Examinations before surgery - laboratory test, ECG, abdominal X-ray, anesthesiology consultation – are on an ambulatory basis. This can guarantee that the patient would spend the least possible time as an inpatient at the hospital. The number of same-day surgeries performed is increasing continuously.
We offer several options to relieve pain during labor: in addition to painkillers and the inhalation of dinitrogen-oxide (dinox) gas, if the medical conditions are met, lumbar epidural anesthesia is also possible.
A continuous on-duty outpatient clinic is available at our division from 3:30 PM until 7:30 AM the following day where the emergency outpatients receive care and women about to deliver and the gynecology patients are admitted via a single-gate system. The outpatient clinic is located on the ground floor of the gynecology block.
Continuous and safe patient care is ensured by an adequate number of obstetricians, anesthesiologists and neonatologists outside regular working hours, during the weekends and holidays.
