Introduction - Rehabilitation Division

At our institution we are planning to implement an exemplary model that includes complex rehabilitation care and in addition to high-quality patient care also provides opportunities for education, training and vocational training as well.

In December 2007, we implemented changes in our medical profile. The septic surgical interventions were ended and significant personal and material developments were carried out to improve professional quality. The division currently provides rehabilitation services for its patients on 110 inpatient beds and 25 daytime hospital beds.

Our division currently provides care for the inhabitants of Hajdú-Bihar County, however, we are going to undertake regional tasks as well with the development of special care.

For patients admitted to our division after a preliminary examination or consultation, an (individual) rehabilitation plan is made. As part of this, in addition to injuries, we also consider comorbidities possibly influencing rehabilitation.

At the Rehabilitation Division, rehabilitation is provided for

  • patients with cerebrovascular (stroke) events,
  • trauma patients (polytraumatised, patients with spinal cord injuries, etc.)
  • chronic neurological patients (e.g., multiple sclerosis, Little’s disease, ALS, etc.),
  • patients after neurosurgery,
  • patients before or after rheumatological surgeries with complications,
  • patients before or after orthopedic surgery
  • or patients who have peripheral venous diseases (amputees) (providing a prosthesis, teaching them to walk).

In line with this, multiple subdivisions have been established. The subdivisions are strongly connected to each other to ensure the necessary capacity required by actual demands.
The patients are placed in hospital rooms with 2-5 beds.

Our outpatient clinic operates with multiple profiles. Within the framework of this, we provide rehabilitation assessment (if necessary, providing an appointment), recommendation and prosthetic supervision for conditions triggered by angiological, diabetological or rheumatological diseases and the prescription of electric mopeds and the necessary medical devices.
