Children living in Debrecen between the ages of 6 and 18 are entitled to school healthcare services in their schools. In elementary and secondary school, a full-time health visitor and school doctor jointly provide the school healthcare services. Within the framework of this form of care, the pupils take part in screenings (in every even year) and they receive the mandatory vaccinations, care, health education programs and professional suitability tests based on their age. School (pediatric) dentistry primary care means preventive and therapeutic care performed according students’ needs. As part of this, prevention and healing are inseparable but prevention takes priority.
The aim of school dentistry services is the protection of the health of the oral cavity with the help of appropriate measures and in this way, the improvement of the general health condition of children.
