Patients scheduled for surgery are informed of the date and time prior to the surgery by the operator and then sign an informed consent form. Checkups, if any, are also performed by the surgeon or his or her designee.
The day before the surgery the anesthesiologist also examines the patient. Preoperative preparation consists of sedative tablets and eye drops, which are first administered in the ward and then continued in the operating room.
