A focal area of activities at the Rehabilitation Ward is complex rehabilitation (involving several medical specialties) of children and adults after injuries or other conditions of the nervous system and after stroke. Another key area is rehabilitation of patients with cardiovascular diseases, obesity, musculoskeletal conditions, limb loss, and those in need of or already using prosthetic limbs. Specialists, physiotherapists, psychologists, ergotherapists, speech therapists, social workers, dietitians, nurses, specialized assistants and volunteers help the recovery and rehabilitation process.
Outpatients are treated at the following ambulatory units: musculoskeletal rehabilitation, pediatric rehabilitation, cardiological rehabilitation, pulmonological rehabilitation, neurology, speech therapy, psychology and physiotherapy.
This clinic is primarily responsible for the rehabilitation of the inhabitants of Debrecen, but patients in need of special treatment are admitted from the whole North-East Hungary region. This latter group comprises patients in need of complex care, or with more severe or special problems (spasticity, Baclofen pump):
- complex rehabilitation (involving several medical specialties) of children and adults after injuries or other conditions of the nervous system and after stroke
- rehabilitation of patients with chronic neurological conditions
- rehabilitation of patients with cardiovascular diseases, with obesity, with musculoskeletal conditions, with limb loss, or in need of or already using prosthetic limbs
Aftercare of inpatients is done at the outpatient specialist consultation every day of the week.
