ECG, cardiac stress test

Informations

Electrocardiography (ECG) records the electric activity of the heart. In certain diseases the electric activity of the heart is changed, which shows as a pathological ECG diagram. These changes in the ECG can sometimes be seen at rest as well, but there are conditions when the change is triggered by physical exercise. The tests are appropriate to explore the changes by recording and evaluating the changes in the ECG induced by gradually increasing stress. Stress is applied by using stationary cycles or treadmills.
