In the framework of the outpatient clinic small surgical interventions are performed in local anesthesia in sterile ORs. For these interventions patients present at the unit at the scheduled time-point. After the intervention follows a short observation period and then the patient is discharged home. The majority of these interventions are performed because of benign and malignant skin and skin structure (nails, hair follicles) diseases. Nowadays a growing number of skin lesions due to exposure to increased UV radiation need surgical removal with appropriate histological assessment.
