General Surgery Division - Other information concerning outpatient care

Outpatient management and scheduling

On Bethlen str. patients are attended to by appointment. Only patients referred by the Oncological Committee may be added to the daily patient lists compiled on the basis of the appointments, after previous consultation.

The Ambulatory Care Unit of the division provides care for

  • Chronic patients referred by specialists
  • Chronic patients referred by a GP
  • Patients with acute symptoms
  • Patients who have undergone a surgery in line with the area of specialization of the division, patients scheduled for check-up examinations for research purposes, patients presenting at the Ambulatory Unit with a surgical indication to have their case evaluated - patients sent for examination from another division (emergency cases, during working hours)

The patient will be attended to by a specialist/physician/resident scheduled to work in the Ambulatory Unit that day and the medical assistant working on the shift.

The Ambulatory Unit accepts patients between 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM in room 040 on the ground floor of building P on the basis of a weekly schedule.

Outside working hours acute patients arrive only to the Emergency Medical Care.

Patient care at specialized ambulatory care

The specialty ambulatory care unit accepts patients between 8 AM and 3 PM on the basis of the daily schedule.

The Specialized Ambulatory Care Unit of the division provides care for

  • Inpatients from related divisions sent for consultation or dressing change
  • Outpatients referred to the unit requiring care based on an adequate profile

Patients are attended to by a specialist scheduled to work in the unit as the physician in charge and an assistant.

Patient management and scheduling in vascular surgery specialized care

  • Surgery patients referred by a GP or some other Outpatient Department
  • Patients scheduled for a check-up
  • Inpatients from other divisions sent for vascular surgery consultation
  • Patients arriving without a referral but requiring acute surgical intervention as part of emergency care will only be seen by the Emergency Medical Care.

Specialty care will be provided by a specialist scheduled to work in the specialist office and the scheduled medical assistant.

Patient management and scheduling in advanced wound care

  • Specialty care will be provided by a scheduled specialist, trainee specialist (under the supervision of a specialist) and the medical assistant scheduled to work in outpatient care, according to the schedule set in advance. This service is provided to the related divisions according to a pre-defined order, by specialists scheduled in advance.

Surgical specialized care on the Bethlen str. site (H-4026 Debrecen, Bethlen str. 11-17)

  • Specialized care will be provided by a scheduled surgery specialist, trainee specialist, resident (under supervision), and the medical assistant scheduled to work in outpatient care.
