Internal Medicine Clinic Block A - Patient flow to inpatient wards, internal transfer

Patients for inpatient admission may come from the Emergency Clinic, from the Internal Medical Specialist Outpatient Clinic, other specialist outpatient clinics, or from other units, such as partner clinics of the University of Debrecen Medical Centre or other hospitals. When notified in advance the Intensive Care Unit takes care of direct admission of patients resuscitated by the Ambulance Service.

The nephrology ward sees patients primarily from nephrology specialist consultations and the dialysis centre by appointment. The unit treats acute conditions and complications of patients from the outpatient specialist care, patients on regular dialysis and follows up on treatment of patients with a renal disease who no longer need intensive care. Following a discussion with the head of the nephrology ward new patients or patients transferred from other hospitals may also be admitted.
