1. History
The Rehabilitation Clinic of the University of Debrecen and its staff look forward to seeing their patients in a modern, high-quality environment, with truly European conditions and technology, due to the EAOP 4.1.2.C. grant from the European Union that contributed to these improvements.
2. Main areas of care and medical specialties
Our clinic provides rehabilitation services mostly for Debrecen residents, but it is available for all patients from North-eastern Hungary who need special treatment. This latter group includes patients with special problems and in need of more complex treatments (spasticity, Baclofen pump).
Rehabilitation for adults and children in need of complex treatment (requiring the cooperation of different specialties) after a neurological damage, stroke, or other neurological conditions.
- The rehabilitation of patients suffering from chronic neurological disorders.
- The rehabilitation of patients suffering from coronary and vascular diseases, obesity, disorders of the joints, and those who have lost a limb or are living with and using a prosthetic limb.
3. Types of medical care and services
Rehabilitation for adults and children in need of complex treatment (requiring the cooperation of different specialties) after a neurological damage, stroke, or other neurological conditions. In addition, we manage the rehabilitation of patients suffering from coronary and vascular diseases, obesity, disorders of the joints, and those who have lost a limb or are living with and using a prosthetic limb. Specialists, physical therapists, psychologists, ergo-therapists, speech therapists, social workers, dietitians, nurses and nurse specialists, as well as volunteers all contribute to the recovery and rehabilitation of patients.
After their release, inpatients come back for follow-up visits at our outpatient services that are open every day.
4. Data related to patient care
Our institution has nearly 60 beds, as well as an outpatient department that both aid complex rehabilitation activities. We have some single rooms and others with 2-3 beds; they are all air-conditioned with separate bathrooms.
