Pulmonology specialist clinic

• This unit offers pulmonology consultations for the patients of the Kenézy Hospital who come for outpatient care or are inpatients at different division or require Emergency care.

Bronchology specialist clinic

• Provides bronchoscopic examinations for patients coming for outpatient care or inpatients needing pulmonary care, and also provides on-call services for the Emergency Division.

Lung Screening Institute

• Adult patients from Debrecen or the neighboring settlements who need specialized care will be attended to at our Institute by appointment.
• The specialist care aimed at the investigation of pulmonary diseases is available for patients with a referral from their GP or another specialist consultation.
• We carry out examinations and provide treatment and care for patients suffering from respiratory tract infections, respiratory allergy, asthma or COPD.
• Our Institute also examines and provides pharmacological treatment and care for TB patients and persons who have had close contact with them (TB contacts).
• In addition, we evaluate the screening images received from the Lung Screening Unit. The patients identified via screening as being at high risk are also examined and provided further care at our Institute, if necessary.

Lung Screening Unit

• Patients are screened by appointment, using a fixed-sized window scan at the Lung Screening Unit.
• On January 1, 2004 lung screening stopped to be compulsory in Hungary. However, with a view to the high incidence of lung cancer, it is recommended for all smoking persons above 40 to take part in regular screening each year.
• Above the age of 40 one screening per year is done free of charge. Below that age screening costs HUF 1,700.  Patients arriving from areas other than area of care of the hospital are required to pay for screening.
