The autopsy of persons deceased outside the hospital but in the region provided medical care to by the Kenézy Gyula Hospital and Clinic will be performed, like in previous years, by the staff of the Department of Forensic Medicine at the Clinical Centre of the University of Debrecen. After 1 January 2008, autopsy is performed according to the following: After 1 January 2008, autopsies are performed at the Department of Forensic Medicine at the Clinical Centre of the University of Debrecen, as indicated by the Kenézy Gyula Hospital and Clinic. Autopsies are carried out by the pathologists and specialists at the Department. The deceased can be transported to the Department of Forensic Medicine at the Clinical Centre of the University of Debrecen and the conduct of their autopsy can be requested after appointments have been done via telephone; the telephone number to be called is 00-36-52- 430- 326 (between 8 AM and 3 PM on weekdays). Before autopsy the two data sheets in the attachment shall be filled in (the forms can be copied or downloaded from the website of the hospital). The filled-in data sheets and the autopsy report shall be submitted to the Department of Forensic Medicine at the Clinical Centre of the University of Debrecen at the same time as the corpse arrives. The deceased persons shall be transported by the funeral homes or undertakers of the place of residence, the related provisions being laid down in Article 34 of Government Decree 43/1999. It is not possible to start and perform autopsy in the absence of the filled-in data sheets and the Autopsy Report; therefore, it is indispensable to submit them to the Department of Forensic Medicine at the Clinical Centre of the University of Debrecen.
