Recommended guidelines for visiting patients
- Visiting hours are from 9 AM to 6 PM every day.
- For a sensible reason, we recommend that a patient has up to two visitors at a time.
- Severely ill patients are entitled to have the person appointed by them – in case of incapacitated patients, by the person defined by subsection (1) and (2) of Section 16 of Act CLIV of 1997 on Health – by their side.
- Visitors under 14 are recommended to stay outside of wards (corridor, hall).
- Visiting patients between 8 PM and 8 AM may only be permitted by the physician on duty in absolutely justified cases.
- Patients can also keep contact with their relatives via telephone. Private phone calls can be made using the designated public telephone.
Discharge from the Department
Patients will be informed on their discharge and assessed whether they can leave or on their own or with the help of a relative or by patient transfer to another institution or their home. On discharge, every patient gets a discharge summary, prescription(s) for their regularly taken medications, and (if relevant) recommendation on medicines or medical devices. The sickness certificate required for entitlement for sick leave benefits is also provided on discharge.
Further information
We kindly ask patients’ relatives to bring a sponge, toiletries, slippers, spoon, knife, plastic cups, serviettes, towel, kitchen towels, toilet paper, and wet wipes for the patients. The medications of our patients are provided from the prescription room of the Department.
Notification
As the University also provides teaching and research services, we ask our patients to take into consideration that sometimes they may be examined by medical students, residents or trainee specialists. This helps future doctors in learning more about diseases and their treatment in real life, and get the necessary experience and practice for the recognition of different conditions.
