Cardiology - Ward rounds

Ward doctor’s round: This is the ward doctor’s responsibility right after the morning meeting with the nurse taking part. The doctor reviews the test results that have been received, and checks the entries on the fever chart.

The Head of Ward’s round: The leading consultant of the ward, the ward doctor and the appointed nurse take part in the round. The ward doctor reports on the status of the patient, and the received test results. The Head of Ward indicates further tests or examinations or consultations, they discuss the tentative and final diagnoses, and state the probable date of discharge.

Professor’s round: Depending on the current work schedule, the director of the institute or his/her designee makes a round of the wards once a week as prearranged on a rotating basis.
