Breast cancer screening. We consider it a priority to methodically screen the population at our Breast Care Center. Therefore, within the framework of the Public Health Program we invite women aged 45-65 in our catchment area to come to a screening. The screening is done on the basis of scheduled attendance, which means that we notify the inhabitants of different settlements according to a predefined schedule.

If your place of living has not been contacted yet, you may want to ask for information at the contact points. If you do not have a letter of invitation, please visit our mammography unit. If the result of the screening shows some lesion, an ultrasound examination might be needed to set up a more accurate diagnosis. If this is the case our colleagues will call you back so as to discuss further steps in person.

We request our visitors to bring along their previous medical reports and the letter of invitation in all cases. A referral is always needed for the breast screening, it is not possible for us to perform the examination without it.

Please note that the specialist of the department may overrule the request for the assessment, and also the appointment might be modified according to the financing regulations in force.

Please note that wait times can vary depending on the type of examinations and the illness treated even if an appointment was booked as there can be more complicated examinations that can take longer, and so wait times might be longer than planned.

A referral can be requested from the family doctor.
