From August 1, 2022, the former Department of Rheumatology at the Kenézy Gyula Campus of the Clinical Centre, University of Debrecen, as part of the integrated Department of Rheumatology and Immunology receives patients from Hajdú-Bihar county suffering from musculoskeletal disorders both on an outpatient and inpatient basis.
Our division considers it an essential duty to improve the quality of life of those suffering from chronic illnesses and inform them about ways to prevent the worsening of their condition (therapeutic exercises, lifestyle changes).
We find it very important to provide care for and treat patients suffering from inflammatory rheumatological disorders, which occurs mostly at our Arthritis Ambulance established specifically for this purpose; however, our general rheumatology outpatient services also treat patients with arthritic inflammations.
In addition to all of this, it is also very important for us to treat diseases of the skeletal system, especially osteoporosis, which is considered a national disease, which we carry out in a specialist clinic.
Outpatient care is provided in the Outpatient Specialist Care Centre within the framework of General Rheumatology Specializations, and patients suffering from inflammatory musculoskeletal diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthropathy, gout, etc.) are cared for at the Arthritis Outpatient Clinic. Follow-up of patients receiving biological therapy is also done here.
Our Infusion room enables our patients to receive high-quality care in a nice environment: they can get intravenous biological therapy, receive education, lifestyle advice, and learn how to administer injections for themselves. Massage chairs make our patients’ stay even more comfortable.
In the Outpatient Specialist Care Centre also has an infusion room, where medicine against osteoporosis, muscle relaxants, vasodilators, and medicine to improve blood circulation can be administered intravenously.
