Neurosurgery Clinic - Ward rounds

Intensive care morning round: begins at 8 AM at the ICU. The neurosurgeon of the highest rank present leads the round, and the neurosurgeon appointed for the ward as well as anesthesiologists, residents, head nurse and appointed nurses take part.

Morning round at the ward: The morning round starts after the morning meeting at 8:15 AM. The Head of the Ward, or the senior consultant present lead the round and all doctors of the ward, residents, the head nurse and appointed nurses take part.

Afternoon round (intensive and inpatient): 3 PM - 4 PM on workday afternoons as instructed by the Head of the Ward. Participants are the Head of Ward, appointed doctor, duty doctor, and the afternoon nurse. They assess the test reports of the day, and depending on them make whatever necessary alterations.  

Head of Institute’s round: Monday-Friday from 8 AM in the ICU, and Monday-Friday after the ICU round in the neurosurgery ward.

Patients are asked to stay in the wards during the rounds. If a patient leaves the ward during the day please let the nurses at the nurses’ station know, or at least tell other patients in the ward. If a patient needs to leave the Clinical Centre premises during treatment (such as, some official administration), please make sure the ward doctor knows about it.
