The following Patient Information Leaflet contains all necessary information for inpatients
Dear Patient,
Before becoming an inpatient at our Clinic please note:
General information:
- Please bring along all medical documents related to your health condition (past test reports, discharge summaries, X-rays, etc.), your health insurance card and your ID card).
- Please write a list of the medications you take together with their dosage and hand it over to your attending doctor.
- Please inform your attending doctor and the anesthesiologist about potential drug sensitivities.
- If you are scheduled for a replacement surgery or some other major surgery, please bring along a pair of elastic compression thigh stockings type 1, available in any medical device store, or if it is more convenient, available for purchase in the shop on the Clinic premises
- Please bring along toiletries (a sponge or washcloth too) and appropriate clothes complying with the local hospital practice (slippers, morning gown, pajamas, jogging suite, trainers etc.)
- Patients scheduled for surgery should have short, natural nails without nail polish. (No fashion nails!)
- Patients scheduled for surgery should not use any body lotion before hospitalization and should not remove their body hair from the surgical area, because that must be done on the day of the surgery by our colleagues.
- Removable dentures must be removed before transport into the operating room and kept in a safe place.
- Only two visitors can visit the patient at any one time in the ward, and only one in the postoperative recovery room.
- During the examination the following persons can be present: the patient’s relative, the attending doctor, the staff involved, including medical students.
- Please note that inpatients cannot leave the clinic unless permitted in writing by the attending/duty doctor.
- No alcohol on the premises of the clinic!
- No smoking on the premises of the clinic!
- Pot flowers and cut flowers are forbidden.
- If you have any questions regarding the surgical intervention and curative treatment discuss them with your doctor before signing the informed consent form.
- Please do not keep any valuables or larger amounts of cash on you. The clinic does not accept any liability for patients’ valuables.
- Patients discharged from the clinic may only leave the clinic when they have received the discharge summary.
- Please note that after admission, before and after your hip replacement surgery you should not put on any underwear.
Information regarding pre-operative anesthesiology checkup:
- Please bring all medical documents related to your health condition (past test reports, discharge summaries, X-rays, etc.), your health insurance card and your ID card).

- If you were sent for tests in search of foci, please bring along the test reports.
