Dr. Tamás Ákosné Dinya Prof. Dr. Mária Papp
She graduated summa cum laude in 1999 with a degree in General Medicine from the University of Debrecen. She is a board-certified specialist in internal medicine (2005) and gastroenterology (2008). She obtained her PhD in 2008, completed her habilitation in 2012, and has been a Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences since 2020.
Since 1 September 2021, she has been a professor and the head of the Department of Gastroenterology at the Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Debrecen. She was instrumental in founding the Gastroenterology Department of the Clinical Centre at the University of Debrecen on November 15, 2021, and currently serves as its director. She is the Vice President of the Clinical Centre’s presidential office responsible for conservative professions, and from the fall of 2021, she has been the medical Vice-President.
Since September 14, 2022, she has been a member—and later professor—of the Scientific and Social Advisory Board of the Count István Tisza Foundation for the University of Debrecen. Since 2021, she has led the national professional board responsible for gastroenterology specialist training and continuing education.
As the head of the centre in Hungary, she has been successfully leading the Hungarian centre of the European Foundation for the Study of Chronic Liver Failure (EF CLIF) since 2016. Since 2019, she has also served as Hungary’s national coordinator for the European Reference Network on Rare Liver Diseases. She is a member of several scientific societies and serves on the editorial boards of numerous international journals.
