  • The nature of the surgery might necessitate imaging, microbiological or laboratory examinations or tests.
  • With respect to co-morbidities consultative examinations will be performed.
  • The patient must bring in the test results before the surgery, but upon arrival for surgery at the latest.
  • When planning the order of surgeries the hygiene level and presence of infectious diseases must be taken into consideration.
  • The surgery schedule should begin with the cleanest surgery.
  • When emergency surgeries need to be performed it is the surgical team that must decide the order of examinations and the course of surgical preparations.
