Dermatology Clinic - Ward rounds

Ward doctors’ round: the round is done by the ward doctor usually in the afternoon hours; the nurse is not necessarily present. Before the round the ward doctor reviews the test reports that have been received and makes sure the data are entered into the patient’s fever chart. In the morning, before the meeting of the doctors the Head of the Ward, or the ward doctor obtain information about events of the duty service.

Head of Ward’s round: The Head of Ward’s round is done at 7 AM - 10 AM with the participation of the leading specialist of the ward, ward doctor and appointed nurse. During the round the ward doctor reports on the status of the patient, and on the test results that have arrived. The Head of Ward examines and questions the patient if deemed necessary and then discusses further tasks and treatments.

Professor’s round (head of institute’s round): Depending on his/her schedule the director of the clinic takes a round once a week on each ward.

The head of institute’s rounds are usually on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

During the round the Head of Ward reports to the doctors attending the round about the anamnesis, condition and therapy of the patients and about the planned diagnostic steps. They discuss diagnostic and therapy problems.

Duty round: During the weekend duty service the duty doctor makes a round at each ward together with the respective ward nurse at 8 AM - 10 PM, depending on the number of urgent cases.
