Heart surgery - Ward rounds

Morning round: On weekdays at 8:30 AM lead by the specialist consultant who currently leads the ambulatory consultation, together with the ward doctor and all other doctors who are involved in the treatment of any patient. The head nurse of the ward, and appointed nurses also take part in the round.

Afternoon round: occurs at the time appointed by the leader of the standby duty. The leader of the duty service, the ward doctor and the nurses working the afternoon shift take part in this round.

Duty round: At weekends rounds at all wards are done by the leader of the duty service both in the morning and in the early evening hours. Should they be delayed they are still to have completed the round.
