Patient admission is continuous. New patients are received and escorted to their wards by nurses. After the introduction of hospital regulations, patients are informed of their rights and obligations, of available services, and of the possibilities of remedy should they have complaints concerning their care. Possibilities of securing their valuables and personal belongings are also described. The doctor on duty examines the patient and fills in the necessary documentation (medical chart, temperature chart, consent statement). The nurse in charge of the ward registers the patient (completes nursing flow sheet), orders the diet prescribed by the doctor, and ensures that the patient receives the prescribed treatment.
Patient transfer is performed after a consultation request with the medical staff of partner departments, when the specialist considers the transfer necessary and the patient’s condition requires further care.
