Patients with urgent conditions (urgent referral or delivered by the Ambulance Service) are examined on the day of referral, or immediately if necessary.
Patients arriving between 8 AM and 2 PM are seen at the Ambulatory unit, and those arriving between 2 PM and 8 AM the next day, are examined at either the male or female inpatient ward.
Depending on the result of the neurological examination patients may be admitted to the ward. Patients who do not need to be admitted are discharged for home with recommendations of a course of treatment, or else transferred to a different ward.
