Our institute stores one archived signed copy of reports made in the medic system for 30 years. Specialist reports finalized by the specialist can be accessed by the attending doctor via the medic system. Patients or their authorized relatives may request an authorized copy of the report for a fee of 3,000 HUF. Upon request the attending doctor working at another health institute may receive an authorized copy of the report free of charge.
The paraffin embedded tissue blocks prepared from the samples taken during surgery are archived for 30 years, whereas the tissue slides and cytological smears are archived for 10 years. Patients or their legally authorized relatives may request that the histological sample be handed over to them for a fee of 3,000 HUF/authorized report. The request can be made by filling in the requisition form and handing it in in person during office hours, or electronically. The request will be processed later. By receiving the histological sample, patients waive their right to having their samples archived by the institute. The Institute sends the archived histological samples officially back to the sender if the request for consultation or further examination (molecular tumor pathological tests locally not done) came from outside, from non-private health institutes. For examinations to be performed by other, private service providers either the patients or their authorized representatives can ask for the issuance of the histological samples, and at the same time they waive their right to archiving the sample at the Institute.
The institute stores the original, signed autopsy report of the diseased in the medic system in the Institute for 50 years. During office hours direct relatives may request that an authorized copy of it be given to them for a fee of 3,000 HUF/authorized report.
