Doctors’ round: Heads of Ward consultants and the director of the clinic make rounds.
During the doctors’ round the ward nurse reports on the general condition of patients, changes in patients’ condition, the present stage of the individual rehabilitation plan (IRP) and all factors that are relevant from the point of view of the curative treatment of the patient.
Director of clinic’s round (the “big round”): It takes place twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays after the morning meeting of the doctors. All members of the team take part in the Tuesday round; on the Friday round physiotherapists are represented by the lead physiotherapist. The ward doctor and other members of the team give a comprehensive report about the curative therapy and rehabilitation program of patients, and about further plans.
Team discussion: once each week at 11 AM on Thursdays all members of the team sit together for a discussion. This is when IRPs are put together and amended week by week. All members of the team work with patients on the basis of the plan that is mutually agreed upon here.
