Patients arriving at our clinic with GP referrals in need of hospitalization are admitted to specialized inpatient wards. Infants younger than 12 months are admitted to a ward specially maintained for them. Special attention is paid to isolate children with signs of an infectious disease. Children over 1 year are hospitalized in the Infectology ward if they arrive with diarrhea and vomiting. The Emergency Ward treats patients who are expected to be hospitalized for only 24 hours. If the condition of the child necessitates further hospitalization the child will be transferred to the respective pediatric specialist ward. Treatment of patients with serious conditions is provided in the intensive care unit.
