Ward doctors’ round: The round is made by the ward doctor and the ward nurse after the morning meeting; the doctor reviews the test results that have been received and ensures that the data are entered onto the fever chart. The test results captured on the fever chart are then saved in the patient file. The doctor collects information about events during the duty hours. He then makes a thorough physical examination and asks the patients how they feel and discusses with the nurse what needs to be done documenting the steps on the fever chart. The doctor administers injections and infusions that the nurses are not authorized to administer.
Head of Ward’s round: The Head of Ward’s round is made by the leading consultant of the ward, the ward doctor, the head nurse of the ward and the appointed nurse of the ward. During the round the ward doctor reports on the condition of the patient and the test results received. The Head of Ward examines and questions the patients, if needed and the team discusses the next steps to be taken.
Professor’s round: The round is made by the head of the clinic, Head of the Ward, ward doctor, and the head nurse of the ward and appointed nurse of the ward. The Head of Ward reports to the professor about the patients’ anamnesis, the course of their condition, the applied therapy and planned diagnostic steps.
Duty round: This round is made by the lead duty doctor and the duty doctor in all wards of the clinic except the Intensive Care Unit at a time adapted to their workload. Patients at the ICU are under continuous monitoring and care by the appointed duty doctor and the appointed nurse.
